(Based on the Philippine Beyblade Battle League Rulebook)


Welcome to VBXA

The VBXA team is thrilled to have you on board for the 1st 5v5 Team Battle of the Visayas Beyblade X Association.

To ensure a safe, respectful, and enjoyable environment for everyone involved, please read and acknowledge the terms below to participate. This also serves as your official rulebook and league guidelines throughout the season.


Code of Conduct

No Trash Talk or Taunting

All players are expected to maintain respect for opponents, officials, and spectators.

Trash talking, taunting, or any form of verbal abuse is strictly prohibited—even if you are friends with your opponents.

Promoting Sportsmanship

VBXA is committed to upholding sportsmanship and respect.

All participants are expected to demonstrate these qualities both on and off the play area.

Handshake between teams is encouraged.

Zero Tolerance for Commotion

Any incident that disrupts the game, including verbal or physical altercations, will result in immediate action from tournament officials.

Consequences

If a commotion or conflict arises, both parties involved will be disqualified, regardless of circumstances.

Further disciplinary action may be taken if deemed necessary by tournament organizers, including disqualification of the entire team from the league.

Definition of Terms

Battle

The smallest unit in which the outcome is determined by winning or losing in Beyblade.

Example:

  • First Bey Battle
  • Second Bey Battle
  • Third Bey Battle

Match

The process of conducting multiple battles until a winner is determined.

Example:

  • Player 1 of Team A vs Player 1 of Team B = Match #1
  • Player 2 of Team A vs Player 2 of Team B = Match #2

Game

A series of matches between two teams.

Set

A series of matches between two teams in a Best-of-3 format.

Round

A series of games/sets or pairings across all teams.

Bracket

A group of teams facing each other.


Rules and Regulations

VBXA follows the 12th Edition Takara-Tomy Beyblade X Regulations.

Rules are subject to change if Takara-Tomy issues updates or if organizers deem immediate changes necessary for tournament improvement.


3G Deck Case Requirements

  • 3G Deck Case is mandatory
  • Official, makeshift, and 3D-printed versions are allowed
  • Must be:
    • Horizontal
    • Labeled 1-2-3

Teams are required to bring a small basket or paper bag every game for their deck cases and label it with:

  • Team Name
  • Bracket

League Duration

  • League Duration: 1 day
  • Date: June 20, 2026

  • Guaranteed Single Round Robin per bracket

Game Format

Elimination Rounds

Format

  • Single Round Robin

Number of Teams

  • 16 Teams

Brackets

  • 2 Brackets

Teams per Bracket

  • 8 Teams

Each team will face every other team in their bracket once.

Tournament standings and scores will be tracked via Challonge.


Elimination Round Flow

  • Guaranteed Single Round Robin
  • 5v5 Team Battle
  • Standard 3G Beyblade X format
  • All players must have a 3G deck

Match Rules

  • All 5 individual matches are played per game
  • Each match is Race to 4 points
  • First team to win 3 out of 5 matches wins the game
  • All 5 matches must still be played even if a team already reaches 3 wins
  • First to 4 points in each individual match grants 1 match win

Tiebreakers

Team standings are determined by:

  1. Match Wins
  2. Wins vs Tied Participants
  3. Games/Set W/L Difference
  4. Points Difference

Play-Off Rounds

Format

  • Single Elimination
  • Best-of-3

Top Cut

  • Top 4 teams per bracket
  • Total of 8 teams advance

Locked deck starts from Round 1 of playoffs onward.


Playoff Flow

  • Brackets will be combined strategically through Challonge
  • Top 1 team from each bracket receives a double-elimination advantage (2 lives) in Round 1
  • Remaining 3 teams per bracket enter single elimination
  • A single loss eliminates them

Best-of-3 continues until Finals.

Once a winner is decided:

  • Remaining games in the set are no longer played

Example:
If Team A wins 3 matches in Set 1, Matches 4 and 5 are skipped and the tournament proceeds to Set 2.


Play Area, Venue Etiquette & Match Timings

Play Area Etiquette

  • Only players, committee members, judges, and media personnel are allowed in the play area
  • No recording devices except the judge’s camera
  • Judges may handle Beyblades according to deck placement

Venue Etiquette

  • Teams will have assigned seating
  • Seating arrangements cannot be changed without committee approval
  • Players must remain seated
  • Do not stand near barricades
  • Practice CLAYGO (Clean As You Go)
  • Trash bins will be available
  • No smoking or vaping
  • Violators are automatically disqualified

Match Timings

Before entering the play area:

  • Team captain may coach player for 30 seconds max

During match:

  • 5 seconds for checking ratchets/bits
  • Exception: mode or orientation changes

Recommendation:

  • Perform checks after judge announces Show Bey

After all 3 Beyblades are used:

  • 10 seconds to shuffle Beys

Penalties may apply for violations.


Contest Procedure

Players may contest a judge’s decision once per match.

Procedure:

  • Judge consults another judge and head judge
  • Final decision is determined by voting

Important:

  • No “3 seconds after launch” contest rule
  • Launch disputes must be called immediately

Any dispute involving:

  • Battle winner
  • Match validity

…automatically counts as a contest.

Audience members cannot contest on behalf of players.

Final judgment belongs to:

  • Assigned Judge
  • Committee

Their decision is final and binding.

Further contesting decisions may result in:

Level 3 Disqualification

Examples include disputes involving:

  • Deck checks
  • Match results
  • Committee rulings

Grounds for Disqualification


Level 1: Player Disqualification

  • Use of worn-out/suspicious parts or launchers after being flagged
  • Use of illegal parts or launchers
  • Unsportsmanlike conduct
  • Proven tampering of Bey parts or launcher
  • Taunting or indecent/unprofessional behavior

Certain violations may escalate directly to Level 3 or 4.


Level 2: Team Match Disqualification

  • Improper team etiquette
  • Illegal coaching
  • Outsider hand signals
  • Excessive noise or shouting
  • Repeated Level 1 violations

Level 3: Whole Tournament Team Disqualification

  • Repeated Level 1 or 2 violations
  • Match selling

Penalty:

  • Disqualified for entire league
  • No refunds

Committee may conduct panel discussions for final sanctions.


Default Rule

  • Maximum roster: 10 players
  • Minimum required players present: 5

If a team has 4 or fewer players present, it automatically counts as a game loss.

  • Non-Bankee products released from Dec 2025–June 2026
  • Rare Bey Get Battle prizes

  • Hasbro collaboration Beyblades officially released by Takara-Tomy
  • Official Takara-Tomy recolors

Not Allowed / Restricted

  • All Hasbro Beyblades
  • Hasbro collaboration Beys unless re-released by Takara-Tomy
  • Hasbro colored ratchets and bits unless re-released by Takara-Tomy
  • Metal Needle bit
  • 3D-printed ratchets and bits
  • Customized blades
    • custom paint
    • modifications
    • polishing

Removing Hasbro QR codes is prohibited.

  • Winder Launchers and Ripcords
  • Entry Launcher
  • Entry Ripcord
  • Winder Launcher L/R
  • Standard Ripcord
  • Dragon Ripcord
  • Long Ripcord
  • String Launcher
  • Launcher Grip
  • Hold Launcher (UX-09 Samurai Saber / BX-00 Xeno Xcalibur)

Also allowed:

  • Winders used in different launcher bodies
  • Official/custom/makeshift horizontal 3G deck boxes with 1-2-3 numbering
  • Official Takara-Tomy gear chip stickers (following official sticker rules)

Not Allowed / Restricted

  • Modified launchers
  • 3D-printed launcher accessories
  • Painted launchers/accessories
  • Unofficial/custom gear chip stickers
  • Unofficial launcher decals
  • Vertical 3G deck boxes
  • Deck boxes without 1-2-3 numbering

Exception:

  • Owner name stickers for identifying equipment are allowed.
